비교급 than any other 단수명사

형태는 비교급이지만 최상급 의미를 나타낸다. ‘other’의 형식을 취하는 것은 주어 자신을 배제한 비교이다. other 뒤에 복수명사를 오답으로 종종 출제하므로 주의해야 한다.

‘‘비교급 than any other 단수명사’는 비교급 형태이지만 최상급 의미입니다. 마찬가지로 원급, 비교급이 부정어 주어와 함께 쓰면 ‘최상급’을 의미합니다.

any는 (많은 것들 중에) ‘어느, 어떤’ 하나를 가리키므로 any animal이 될 경우 비교대상에 주어 자신까지 포함되는 모순이 발생한다. 따라서 any 다음에 주어 자신을 배제하는 “~이외”를 뜻하는 other를 써야 한다.
